Other activities that happen here are learning how to make yidaki (didgeridoo) and gara (spear) and galpu (spearthrower) and learning how to use them, collecting bush foods and traditional weaving materials, learning to weave baskets, collecting and using plants for bush medicine, and fishing and hunting for mud crabs.

You will also hear the songs and the stories of this land and learn about our Yolngu kinship and how the old people lived on our traditional lands.

We follow our grandfather's and our father's footsteps and how they lived. We also have traditional art and craft work for sale

Our homeland Nyinyikay is a beautiful place on the edge of Arnhem Bay in East Arnhem Land in the Northern Territory. When you come and visit us at Nyinyikay you will have opportunities to take part in our daily lives. Activities include digging for wild yams and turtle eggs or going on daily hunting expeditions.
